The last round of the 2018 South-African ORE national championship was held at Krugersdorp Model Racers at the Key West Track over weekend 03 and 04 November 2017. After Round 3 was cancelled, this event was key in determining the champion as it was three rounds to count for the 2018 championship. Awesomatix have introduced their new limited edition MMCX-A aluminium chassis mid motor conversion kit for the A800X Evo touring car. The set includes an alloy lower deck, a softer top deck compared to the MMCX-2 carbon fibre chassis set, as well as an aluminium motor mount, two 357mm belts, top deck stiffener and small parts. The conversion is a limited edition and it will hit stores soon.

New from RC Maker are an industry first line of digital setup gauges for 1/10th EP and GP Touring Cars. The first introductions to the line are two digital gauges, one for conventional touring cars which digitally measures camber and rear toe. This is currently being debuted by Ronald Volker and Yukijiro Umino at IIC in Las Vegas. The second is for Awesomatix Touring Cars which digitally measures the front and rear caster.

The third round of the 2017 South-African ORE 1/12th national championship series was held at the Welkom RC Arena this past weekend. With a tight 2017 RC racing schedule in South Africa some of the 1/12th drivers could not participate in the event but all the championship contenders were present for the four qualifying rounds and three finals. New from RC Maker is the updated Tire Line Remover Tool. Based off the same concept as the original Tire Line Remover, the V2 is stronger, sharper and safer to use. The tool was designed to cut the centre moulding line off rubber tires, specifically for touring car and formula applications, allowing maximum tire performance from the first lap without grinding or sanding of the tire’s surface.
